Started a project last year og finished it now: a dress. My husband - as always giving compliments- calls it the medieval dress. And I guess he is right. So what is wrong? Pattern, fabric or both?
With left-overs from the fabric I made several placemats with, I made a tea-cosy. Even my husband liked the result. I have to admit that I still have problems to sew the squares precisely together, so I have to practice more. And some of the fabric was a little bit skew and that didn't make it easier.
I've tried to sew a bag. Living in Bergen I've choosen laminated fabric (waterproof). This was the first time I've used this material, so I was a little nervous how it would handle. It worked well if you stich on the wrong side (the non laminated side). Otherwise the fabric would not be transported. I'm not 100% happy with the result, but I love the colors. One thing I have to do is to find some buttons so that I can close the bag.
And now for something completely different: after the placemats, a pillow. This pillow is for on our wooden terrace chairs to prevent sore bottoms. It is a pity you don't see the tree trunk very well. So next time I have to make the pillow bigger or the tree smaller. The straps are to attach the pillow on the terrace chairs.
After the course I decided to practice a bit longer with placemats. Based on dissapearing 9 patch I made these ones. The problem is that this is based on squares and a placemat is not a square. However I liked the result!
