Bag course

At the end of September I followed a course where we made a bag. It was a marvellous course with a fantastic courseleader: André Wallenborg. He is a well-known handbag designer with his own designstudio in Moss (Norway). His trademarks are smart designs. Knowing that we are sewing on 'normal' sewing machines he has an ingenious system of folding the fabric. That way you get lots of pockets that can still be sewn on normal sewing machines. The most difficult part of this course was the folding and the order in which you assemble the bag. The result looks really good. Soon afterwards I've made a second one to one of my friends so that I hope not to forget how to do it!

Medieval dress

Started a project last year og finished it now: a dress. My husband - as always giving compliments- calls it the medieval dress. And I guess he is right. So what is wrong? Pattern, fabric or both?

Tea-cosy

With left-overs from the fabric I made several placemats with, I made a tea-cosy. Even my husband liked the result. I have to admit that I still have problems to sew the squares precisely together, so I have to practice more. And some of the fabric was a little bit skew and that didn't make it easier.

Bag

I've tried to sew a bag. Living in Bergen I've choosen laminated fabric (waterproof). This was the first time I've used this material, so I was a little nervous how it would handle. It worked well if you stich on the wrong side (the non laminated side). Otherwise the fabric would not be transported. I'm not 100% happy with the result, but I love the colors. One thing I have to do is to find some buttons so that I can close the bag.

pillow

And now for something completely different: after the placemats, a pillow. This pillow is for on our wooden terrace chairs to prevent sore bottoms. It is a pity you don't see the tree trunk very well. So next time I have to make the pillow bigger or the tree smaller. The straps are to attach the pillow on the terrace chairs.

Placemats 2

After the course I decided to practice a bit longer with placemats. Based on dissapearing 9 patch I made these ones. The problem is that this is based on squares and a placemat is not a square. However I liked the result!

Something completely different

It's time to pick blueberries. It's fun (and a lot mosquito bites..) It keeps you busy all day, but the result is a really good tasty jam.
The result: 5 jars of blueberry jam
